Home Learning

Spelling

Each spelling rule is set over a two week period. New words are given on a Monday and then tested on the Friday two weeks later. Your children will have their Log and Learn words stuck into their Spelling Log, which needs to be in school every day. They will also have Speed Spell words. These are words commonly used in their writing. Please practise these as well.

Reading

As per our new home-learning policy, the expectation is that every child reads every day.

At Bushey Manor, our ‘Weekly Reading Challenge’ is having the Reading Record signed on 7 occasions across the week, after reading – this can be reading to ANY adult for at least 15 – 20 minutes per day.

The class that has the highest percentage of readers each week gets to have Stormzy, the hamster, in their class the following week.

Times Tables

As per our new home-learning policy, the expectation is that every child works on their number facts knowledge every day.

This will involve learning and knowing your times-tables as inside out and back to front as possible, as well as knowing your number facts and fractions.

Please check the Useful Information and Resources section for links to fun websites to help you.
