M4 have thoroughly enjoyed our first week in Y4. We have managed to complete a lot of fun, interactive team building and ‘Getting to Know You’ activities, alongside our Maths and English work. Week 1 has certainly been productive!
Our learning in English this week has been based around the book “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane”. We have looked at the main character, a 3ft tall china rabbit, and how he is learning to see the world through more caring eyes. We have also predicted what will happen towards the end of the book and written a new chapter based around our predictions.
During the afternoons, B4 and M4 have teamed up to commence a whole year 3D modelling art project. Using papier mache, B4 are creating ships (an important element of the story) and M4 are making models of Edward himself.
In maths, we have use Cuisinaire Rods to explore number bonds, number patterns, equivalents and the purpose of the ‘equals’ sign. You will be able to see some of our marvellous maths work in the photos section of our class page.
We are all very excited to start our learning next week. Our activities will be based on “Fantastic Mr Fox” in aid of Bushey Manor ‘Roald Dahl Week’. Look out next week for more information!
