Bushey Manor Junior School

Learning and achieving together

Proud to be part of the Bushey Primary Education Federation - Executive Head Mrs C Holliman

Week 1 - 18th April

This week has been shorter than usual, but intense!

In Maths, we have been working with addition and subtraction, and different methods to solve sums and problems. We have also learned to find missing numbers in sums.

In English, we have started reading a book called the Great Kapok Tree, which is linked to our topic: RAINFOREST! We are going to learn about it during Geography, Science, Computing, etc. This week we started writing about how the sounds and images of the rainforest inspire us to create sentences, using metaphors and similes.

In Geography, we made groups and we had to look for information about the rainforest in different countries. We had to look for data in different sources, such as Ipads, Atlas, books, etc.

This term´s topic in RE is Islam, so we have just introduced it talking about the main features of Islam, Muhammad and the Five Pillars of Islam.

Have a nice weekend!
