The end of another busy week in M3! This week has seen us getting into the Christmas spirit already. As our English topic is instruction writing, we explored a large variety of instructions, picking out their features. After lots of searching, we found a set of instructions to create the perfect Christmas decoration, a tree made from lolly sticks. You can see us making these and some sneak previews of the final result in our Gallery section. Later on in the week, we read some instructions on how to trap a stone giant. We will use a similar structure next week to create a set of class instructions on how to trap a Christmas elf and then get creative with our own creatures!
In Maths, we have been creating rhymes and actions to help us remember the rules of rounding. After practising our rounding skills, we applied our learning to rounding money. We had lots of different values to add and round to the nearest £10 and £100. We then used our understanding of place value and decimal numbers to round amounts of money to the nearest whole pound. Why not see if you can practise these skills next time you out shopping?
