Week 14 - 12th December

One week to go and we are getting ready for Christmas! Today, we had our Christmas lunch and the rehearsal for the carol service which will take place next week.

In English, we have been reading and writing poems. First, we learned the features of poems, such as rhyme and metaphoric and symbolic meaning. Then, we practiced rhyming words with a rap battle! We also learned that mind maps are a useful resource to organise ideas. Finally, we applied all these techniques to write our own poem.

In Maths, we have been working on multiplication. First, we have studied the relationship between repeated addition and multiplication, to later on, apply this in one and two digits sums and word problems. Finally, we established the relationship between multiplication and division, which we will study in future lessons.

This week, in our Design and Technology topic, we have learned about light, how light circuits work, and we have applied that knowledge to design and create our own lamps, taking into account the battery, the light bulb and the switch.
