We have had another great week of learning!
In Maths we have been investigating the effect of multiplying and dividing by 10. We looked at a range of one, two or three-digit numbers and used the place value chart to show what happens when they are multiplied or divided by 10. We had to look carefully at the numbers and understand how one-digit numbers will divide and become a decimal number.
In English, we got to write our own newspaper reports. We began by watching 'Lighthouse', which is a short animated film. We picked out he 5 W's (who, what, where, why, when) and then planned each part of the newspaper report. These were the headline, opening statement, paragraphs and a closing statement. We also included quotes from different people and used reporting clauses as we wrote them into our reports.
We also began our sewing unit. We began learning how to backstitch and once we had practiced we made the Christmas stockings that will hang on the Christmas hoops. Next week we will begin to make our Worry Buddies. We would like to thank our parent helpers that came to support us during the sewing lesson. We really appreciate all of your help and are thankful that you could take the time to come in.
