The highlight of this week's learning was our Palaeontology Workshop.
The children spent the day learning about evolution and adaptation through a variety of activities. They spent the day studying the fossil record, investigating the ancestors of vertebrates, molluscs and arthropods and playing games that showed them how adaptation works. Highlights of the day were seeing fossils that were over half a billion years old, discovering the ancestor of vertebrates was a slug-like creature and using paper beaks to show how birds' beaks have adapted to the food they eat.
A huge thank you to Dr Helen for running the workshop and providing the fossils for the children to study.
