Bushey Manor Junior School

Learning and achieving together

Proud to be part of the Bushey Primary Education Federation - Executive Head Mrs C Holliman

Week 9 - 19th June

It's been an action packed sports and science week in B3. We have combined our Maths and English with our science investigations this week. We began by testing whether we can aim better using both eyes or just one. Ask us about our findings. We have also been testing different fabrics to find the perfect running clothes for Miss Williams. Although we're sure she'd look fantastic in the pink fur, we found that it's not ideal because it's not quick drying.

Thank you to all the parents who joined us for sports day. It was roasting hot, but we all had a great time and we are proud of all the effort the children put in.

We were all so proud of the children who took part in the keyboard assembly, it was truly amazing. Well done to Nina, Akshaya, Jasmine, Matilda, Daisy and Emma, you are all super stars!

Our spellings for this week are: reappear, rearrange, rebuilding, reconnect, recycle, redo, redecorate, refresh, renew, replace, replay, reheat.

Next week:

In English we will be writing newspaper reports linked to our book, 'The Moon Man'. If you get a newspaper at home find some suitable articles to share with your child.

In Maths we'll be solving division problems and we will begin looking at methods of long division.

In Science we'll be looking at different sources of light.

In RE we'll be learning about the Muslim festival of Ramadan.

Next Friday is our sharing assembly, we hope to you are able to make it.

Can you solve Stan's number problem?

My  number is odd.It rounds up to 800. It is lower than 970. All three digits add up to 16. It's between 750 and 790. The last two numbers add up to 9.
