We have had a very busy and exciting week to kick off the new school year and what a year it will be! As a class there have been many discussions about what we would like to take from the school year, academically and personally and we have very high expectations! Keep checking our page weekly to find out how we are getting on!
The theme for our first week as M5 has been being unique and what this means to us. Our stimulus has been a variety of books and poems, including 'The Day The Crayons Quit'. It really allowed us to think about what makes us feel appreciated and how we can use this as a class to be the best that we can be. We also made links with the artist Picasso, using our investigation skills to find out who he was and how he interpreted the idea of being unique. In our Week in Pictures section, you will find photographs of us channeling Picasso to create individual portraits.
Next week, along with continuing our work about individuality and building on what he have started this week, we will be basing our learning around the whole school themes of Roald Dahl. Have a discussion at home about your favourite Roald Dahl book ready for discussion!
