This week we have been exploring 'Beyond the Lines' a short film about the D-Day landings in Normandy. The children have been trying to create their own descriptive pieces about the landing, which is quite challenging as the film has a twist. From their writing they then had to predict how the film might end and our next challenge is to put this into a descriptive piece of writing.
Who knew that teaching the children how to solve problems by dividing fractions would make so many of them smile and punch the air with sheer triumph and joy!? I certainly didn't but I was thrilled to witness the utter pleasure and pride that went with the success of their learning this week. Well done to everyone for taking a risk and allowing fractions to make you smile.
Thank you to those of you who were able to take the time out of your busy schedules to come to our Learning Assembly today. I hope you are as proud of your children as I am. Their writing continues to go from strength to strength and I know that there is something even better yet to come from all of them. It is a pleasure to be a part of their learning journey and I thank you for your continued support as we make our way through Year 6.
