It was lovely to welcome all of the children back to school this week and we have hit the ground running in all subjects.
In English we have started learning about play scripts and looking at the their different features. We have been adapting narrative into scripts and vice versa which has been challenging but a really good piece of learning. There has also been a lot of acting this week too which has been fun.
In Maths, we have finished our unit on measures and converting measures. Please take opportunities to practice this skill at home as the more we practice, the more we remember.
I can see a real improvement in the times tables too so thank you to all of you who are encouraging your children to practice their tables and the division facts on a daily basis.
In Science we have begun our new topic: States of Matter. We sorted different things into solids, liquids and gases and we will be exploring what that mean scientifically next week.
We had a great Circle Time with Mrs Shirley where we focused on Friendship, which is our value of the month, and it was lovely to hear the children talk about what makes a good friend.
Please can you ensure that your children have all of the equipment that they need for their school day. We still have many children who don't have glue or a 30cm ruler.
