This week have been continuing with our ‘We Will Rock You’ topic.
We continued with our writing linked to pebbles; the structure of the Earth; how a volcano is formed and where volcanoes can be found around the world and, as we completed them, stuck them into our Topic scrapbooks. We also found out about the four main types of volcano and carried out further research using the iPads.
In Maths we have continued to develop our mental maths skills and have started using them in subtraction calculations.
Thursday afternoon saw us join M3 and Year 4 at St. Albans Abbey, where we took part in a concert organised by Herts Music Services. We have been practising songs, as part of the Chorister Outreach programme, since September. It was a wonderful occasion and, as well as singing, we had a walk around the Abbey and heard the story of St. Alban. Our guide said what a fantastic group of children we were, which made Mrs Lowden even more proud!
The end of the week saw us starting our preparations for Christmas at Bushey Manor. We started work on the decorations that will hang off our class hoop in the Dining Hall. Look out for a photo of our finished hoop next week!
