This week we celebrated World Book Day, it was fantastic to see the children share their favourite stories and come as characters of their choice. This week the children also got to enjoy our annual book at bedtime event, it was great to see so many of you there. We hope you enjoyed it!
In Maths, we have been continuing with our work on equivalent fractions as well as ordering fractions with the same denominator. The children have been using fraction walls to help develop and deepen their understanding of equivalence. There is an online interactive fraction wall that we used in class that the children enjoyed (https://www.visnos.com/demos/fraction-wall). Next week we will be looking at adding fractions with the same denominators.
In English, we have been continuing our work using the story of War and Peas. The children created their own imaginary worlds and wrote some fantastic descriptive settings. Next week we will be exploring prepositions and then be retelling the story.
We started our new history topic, Ancient Egypt this week as well as our new Science topic, Light. We will be continuing with these over the upcoming weeks.
