This week the whole school concluded the book ‘Flotsam’ by David Wiesner. This was a cross curriculum task where students showed their understanding of the picture book. The children have shown throughout the project that picture books are not necessarily for young children but for everyone.
In Maths we have been learning about place values from decimal numbers to a million. In English we have started to read the book ‘Journey to Jo' burg’ so far children have expressed what they think the book is going to be about and have now been introduce to some of the characters.
In Geography we have been looking at plastic pollution in our oceans and looking at the cause and affects. Moreover, children have written letters to Sir David Attenborough, informing him about these issues and made suggestions on how we can improve our oceans.
Finally, we would like to thank all parents and guardians for your support on Friday where you have donated £1 for Genes Day charity and allowed your children to wear their favourite jeans into school. They all looked bright and colourful and enjoyed the day being in non-uniform.
