This week in English, we started a new unit on Non-Chronological Reports. We explored a variety of reports about dinosaurs and identified the main structural and language features of this text type. Towards the end of the week, we used our research skills to find out interesting facts about one aspect of dinosaur life. We then shared our findings with the rest of the class. Next week, we are going to begin planning our own non-chronological report about a dinosaur.
In Maths, we have been developing our knowledge of the 3x, 4x and 8x times tables. We used a variety of resources, including beadstrings and counters, to make groups of numbers and arrays. We recorded our findings in our books and wrote down the calculations that the arrays represented. Next week, we are going to be developing our understanding of division and how this links to multiplication and our times tables.
In P.E., we continued to develop our badminton skills. We were introduced to the forehand and backhand grip and practised this by returning shots to our partners. We were also shown how to lunge to hit a net shot. Miss Williams was shocked by how unfit we were when practising our lunges!!
