This week saw the start of our DT skill - sewing! Thanks to those parents who came and helped Mrs Kalokoh and me and we would welcome any extra help on the next two Wednesday afternoons. Sewing is such a useful skill for the children to learn and with the right amount of patience (and adult helpers) we will complete our project in time for the children to take them home at the end of term.
B4 also started swimming this week and the children walked really well to and from the swimming pool and enjoyed their session when they were there. Once again, if anyone is able to help accompany the children it would be really useful.
In English we have finished writing our newspaper reports and the children enjoyed publishing them on Purple Mash. We will get them printed off next week and displayed around the classroom and Year 4 corridor.
In Maths we have moved on to dividing and multiplying by 10 and are using place value charts to help us to understand what happens to a number when this happens. We will continue with this next week.
Please can I remind all parents to ensure that the children are practising their times tables every single day and are able to answer both multiplication and division facts out of order. By the end of Year 4, the children should be able to answer 60 questions, both division and multiplication, across all of the times tables, in 3 minutes.
Well done to those children who have been in Purple Mash and completed some of the activities I have posted. It is really good to see the children wanting to consolidate their learning outside of school.
