In Maths this week, the children have been applying their knowledge of multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100 to converting units of measure. They began by learning the rule for multiplying and dividing by 1000 before learning how to convert millimetres into centimetres, centimetres into metres and metres into kilometres. By the end of the week they a
plied this learning to converting litres into millilitres.
In English, the children completed their newspaper reports about the lighthouse. They will move onto editing and publishing these next week.
The children began their first Geography unit, Global Caretakers, this week. In this unit, the children will be learning about the impact that global warming has on our planet and how we can do to reduce our carbon footprint. They began to fill out a KWHL grid with ideas of what they know, what they would like to know and how they will find it out. At the end of the unit, children will add in what they have learnt.
