Week 4 - W/E 17th May

In English this week, we have continued to identify the features and structure of letters. We then focused our work on looking at the differences between formal and informal letters. At the end of the week, using a model letter, we started to plan our own persuasive letter linked to our Rainforest topic. we will be continuing with these next week.

Our Maths sessions have been focusing on extending our division skills. We have been dividing larger numbers with remainders and then moved on to dividing numbers with regrouping. We are gradually getting the hang of it through modelling calculations using counters, Dienes and recording in our books.

We also spent some time this week practising our times tables using Times Tables Rockstars. Remember, the children can access this at home too!

We continued with our Plants topic in Science this week. Following on from our previous session, we wrote about the role of each part of a plant and drew diagrams. Next week, we will be planning and setting up an investigation into plant growth.

In Design Technology we started decorating our models that will use a pneumatic system. We used assorted paper and card to add colour and texture to our designs. Next week, we will finish them.
