Week 6

This week has whizzed by!  We have been exploring wow words/powerful vocabulary and their synonyms, so we can up-level and polish our writing.  The children have enjoyed using their exciting new words in their work and I have been pleased with the outcome.  Ask them about myriad and pungent (a word we felt described our classroom at times this week!).  The children were thrilled to be able to do 'freeze frames', based on a chapter of the book today.  We were so impressed with the quality of their work and the manner in which they were able to express their character's thoughts. feelings and emotions through facial expressions.  We look forward to sharing this work with you.

Maths was full of excitement, as we learnt our 8 times tables (some did their 14's) and produced our own set of memory cards to play and test our knowledge and understanding.  The children will be bringing them home to play with you, so have your 8 times tables knowledge at the ready!  Ask the children about the rules and patterns they noticed and learnt today.

It was lovely watching your children at their final swimming session this week, where they played team games and races, as well as playing with the inflatables.  They had such a great time and it was lovely to watch them having such a great time outside of our classroom setting.  They are an absolute joy and pleasure to be around!

Have a great weekend and hopefully see some of you on Thursday!
