In Year 5, we have been learning about fractions.
An improper fraction is a fraction, which has a numerator that is larger than the denominator, because it is larger than the whole.
An equivalent fraction, is a fraction that is worth the same as another fraction, e,g ; 5/10 = ½ = 3/6.
We have been using Cuisenaire rods as a concrete resource to help us visualise what a fraction looks like.
We have also been thinking about when you would use fractions in real life and coming up with some of our own worded problems.
We hope you enjoy looking at some examples of our work.
